Panaji – Goa : ‘Gou-premis’ take out march to police Head Office

• Demand immediate arrest of assailants of ‘Gou-rakshaks’ and protection for ‘Gou-rakshaks’ !

• Hindus need to realize that the thick-skinned Government does not understand the language of protest marches and meetings; therefore, they should do something which would force the Government to take action !

Participated ‘Gou-premis’ in the March

Panaji (Goa) : ‘Gou-premi’ citizens took out a protest march on 25th February 2015 to the Head Office of police for their demands of prevention of smuggling of beef taking place on large scale in Goa and prevention of illegal slaughtering of cows/cattles; besides immediate arrest of those who attacked Shri. Amrut Singh and Shri. Hanumant Parab. A demand was also made for providing protection to Gou-rakshaks’.

First a huge march was taken to the Police Head Office in Panaji and a representation was submitted to Inspector General of Police, Shri. Sunil Garg, by delegation of the ‘Gou-premis’. 1000 ‘Gou-premis’ participated in the march.

Members of various organizations viz. ‘Bharat Swabhiman’, ‘Animal Rescue Squad’, RSS, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Sanatan Sanstha and other social organizations; besides large number of Gou-premis were present. A meeting was then held at Azad Maidan. Shri. Ashok Naik, former Mayor of Panaji Municipal Corporation said, “Cow is referred to as ‘Gou-mata’ in ancient Hindu culture. Awareness needs to be created in everyone regarding slaughtering of cows/cattles. Shri. Hanumant Parab has been fighting for this cause for many years. Let us all join and be with him in this fight.”

Shri. Govind Chodankar of HJS said, “Police should provide protection to ‘Gou-rakshaks’. Whenever any Gou-rakshak is attacked, all of us should unite and raise voice against such things.”

Singer Hema Sardesai said, “The way ‘Gou-mata’ is slaughtered is so cruel and inhuman that it really hurts. Every animal should be treated with respect.”

Shri. Kamalesh Bandekar of Bharat Swabhimna said, “Thirteen days have passed since Shri. Amrut Singh was attacked; but no accused has been nabbed so far. Inter-State smuggling of beef is still going on.”
