Hindus must not forget these anti-Hindus – Editor

Shikaripur (Karnataka):
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) had organised photo-exhibition devised by FACT on terrorism in Kashmir on 26th and 27th February. The exhibition was to be held at Shikaripur, Shimoga district in Karnataka. The sequence of events in the above context is given below.

  • On 23rd February, members of HJS approached police for permission to make announcement on loudspeaker about the exhibition so that maximum number of Hindus could visit. Shri. Doddegouda, Police Inspector accepted the application and asked the devout Hindus to come on the following day.
  • On the following day, members of HJS went to the police station in the morning; but they were asked to come in the evening as Circle Inspector and Dy. Police Superintendent were on a visit to the police station. (Indifferent police were not bothered to inform members of HJS to go in the evening – Editor).
  • HJS members called up police station. They were advised to seek permission from the Tehsildar as there were some problems.
  • In the evening, members went to the residence of Tehisldar with the application who agreed to grant permission for making announcement on loudspeaker. Tehsildar asked them to take permission letter from his office on the next day.
  • On 25th February, HJS members went to the office of the Tehsildar. He took them to Shri. S. P. Patil, the Dy. Superintendent of Police (DSP), who cancelled the permission letter prepared earlier by the Tehsildar. (Point to note here was a meeting organised by Muslims in Shikaripur two days after the exhibition. This shows that police are scared of Muslims – Editor).
  • The DSP took members of HJS to the police station in his vehicle and asked for details about the exhibition. Although he was assured by the members that all programs would be carried out peacefully; he did not grant permission; moreover, he threatened the members that case would be filed against them and they would be put behind bars in case they tried to carry out the program. He also called his subordinates and instructed them to arrest all members if they put up exhibition.
  • On 26th February, Dr. Hariprakash and Shri. Sujeet, members of HJS reached the venue to inform visitors about cancellation of the exhibition; but they found 3 policemen already engaged there in sending people away. (Hindus must realize the seriousness about the situation that they are not allowed to even protest against injustice meted out to them in this country where Hindus are supposed to be in majority. Hindus should, therefore, get ready to revolt – Editor).
