Falgun Shuddha Dvadashi
Mumbai (Maharashtra): Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has organised a ‘Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha’ at Bhandup (West) on 30th March with an aim of protesting against assaults on Hindu Dharma, prevent denigration of Hindu deities, create awareness among Hindus towards their Dharma and bring Hindus together. In this background, to advertise about this meeting, a rally was organised by HJS from Lalasheth Compound at Bhandup and the purpose of holding such ‘sabha’. Many ardent Hindus positively responded to the rally expressing their resolve to come together for protection of Dharma. The route of the rally went through Tembhipada Road, Pachmandir, Shivajinagar, Ganeshnagar, Anandnagar, Konkannagar, Sahyadrinagar and back to Lalasheth Compound. More than 400 people including ladies, gents, school students and elected representatives participated in the rally.
The main attraction of the rally was that at many corners enroute, road-shows were arranged depicting pathetic condition of Hindu Dharma. These road-shows also helped to create awareness among people towards this issue. The rally took off with breaking of coconut by Ha.Bha.Pa. Ganapat Waphare and Ha.Bha.Pa. Dr. Vasudev Manchekar in Shiva temple. ‘Dharma-dhvaja’ was also worshipped under the guidance of Shri. Ramachandra Karambelkar, the priest and ‘puja’ performed by Mr. and Mrs. Bagave, a social worker and president of Mumbai Mahnagar Kreeda Bharati. The rally ended in a meeting which was addressed by Shri. Ramesh Korgaonkar, a municipal councilor of Shiv Sena. He assured that his party will always support activities undertaken by HJS. He reminded that it was Shiv Sena who has opposed the anti-Hindu Act against superstitions. Shri. Shivaji Vatkar, Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts coordinator of HJS also addressed the meeting.
Cooperation and participation
Shri. Talashikar, a social worker, Shri. Ramesh Korgaonkar, municipal corporator of Shiv Sena, Shri. Vilas Karagaj, Shiv Sena chief of Shakha No. 107, Shri. Baburao Patil, director of Jijamata Vidya Mandir, Shri. Ramrao Surve, Dy. Director of Sahyadri Vidya Mandir and members of other Hindu organizations extended cooperation for and participated in the rally.
Students from 8th and 9th standard and Sree Datta Classes had also joined the rally.
