Chandigarh (Punjab): The Punjab Government recently imposed an immediate ban on "incorrect literature" based on Hindu deities and Ramayana being distributed in the border area of Ferozepur.
An assurance to this effect was given by leader of House Parkash Singh Badal in the state Assembly during the Zero Hour when the BJP legislator Surjeet Kumar brought to the notice of Vidhan Sabha the distribution of "incorrect literature".
Waiving some books, Kumar raked up the issue during the Zero Hour and alleged that the content related to Hindu deities and Ramayana in these literature are incorrect.
"Such literature is hurting religious sentiments of a particular community," Kumar said while demanding immediate ban on it by the State Government.
Badal thanked the MLA for bringing the matter to the notice of the House and assured that the Government will take legal action against those involved in the publication of such literature.
