Apology letter from Rashtriya Chemical and Fertilizers Limited to HJS

Updates

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd. (RCF) has rendered apology, expressing regret over staging a short play titled ‘Surakshit Ramayana’ as it hurt religious sentiments of Hindus. The play was staged as a part of celebrations of their ‘Safety Week’; the company also assured that henceforth, such things will not happen.

In the issue dated 27th March 2008 of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ (DSP), news regarding staging of a short play denigrating ‘Ramayana’ was published creating furor among Hindus and few devout Hindus had registered their protest with the company over phone. A protest letter was also submitted to the company. As a result, Shri. Kiran Phadanis, the Chief General Manager of RCF sent a letter to the Editor of DSP on 28th March, giving an explanation that there was no mockery of any kind in the said play. When the management of the company was informed that denigration did take place hurting religious sentiments of Hindus, Shri. Phadanis wrote a letter to the Editor of DSP on 29th March and rendered apology in case feelings of Hindus were hurt. A devout Hindu had lodged a complaint with a police station but the company management had hatched a plot against the complainant to withdraw his complaint and asked him to render apology to the company.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) followed up the matter with the company when a delegation of HJS was invited by RCF management to watch the CD and discuss the issue with them. The management contended that there was nothing objectionable in the play and the sentences had different meanings if taken up without any reference to context. (What is the need to give reference when there are objectionable sentences making mockery of objects of worship of Hindus? Heretics, however, do not accept their mistake owing to lack of love for Dharma and Hindus are over tolerant – Editor) On watching the controversial VCD of the play, Shri. Shivaji Vatkar, the coordinator of HJS for Mumbai district and Shri. Madhav Deshpande, a member of HJS proved to the officials of the company that denigration of deities was very serious and that has hurt religious sentiments of Hindus. Shri. Vatkar said that the company has, in its letter to the Editor of DSP, rendered apology just as a formality using the ‘ifs and buts’ language. The Company had not replied to the protest letter sent by HJS. The company management had hurt feelings of Hindus through the medium of the short play by making mockery of Holy Scripture of Hindus like ‘Ramayana’ and strict action can be taken against the company; after which they requested HJS to cooperate by excusing the company and submitted a regret letter to HJS. The letter said that the short play was based on Marathi plays like ‘Vastra-haran’, ‘Yada-kadachit’ and ‘Ghadalaya – Bighadalaya’; further rendering apology that the company regretted hurting religious sentiments of Hindus. The letter said that they (People in the company) were also Hindus and worshipped Prabhu Ramachandra; they worshipped Holy Scriptures of Hindus like ‘Ramayana’ and Mahabharata’ too. They were sorry about the unintentional mistake and would be careful in future. The apology letter was sent to HJS along with the signatures of workers of the company.

RCF Limited apologies for insulting Ramayana!

March 28, 2008

Phalgun Krushna Navami

Mumbai (Maharashtra): A play based on the incidents in Ramayana was staged during Safety week in RCF Limited, a well known company in Chembur. The play was extremely derogatory of Ramayana (Hindus who insult their Dharmgranthas are enemies of Hinduism – Editor) Certain dialogues in this play were very hateful and hurting to the sentiments of Hindus, for e.g., Sree Lakshman asks Sitadevi, “Diwas gele ka tula?” (meaning – are you carrying?). Sree Ram asks Sree Lakshman, “Kay line marthos!” (meaning – trying to woo somebody!) and Sitadevi saying about Ashok Vatika, “14 years? I could stay here for 28 years”. In the end, it was shown that Sitadevi lifts Ravana up.

The above insult of Ramayana was strongly protested against by the officials of the RCF Workers Sena. The RCF Workers Sena’s chief, Shri. Dattatreya Parab went ahead and lodged a complaint against the anti-Hindus. (People like Shri. Dattatreya Parab are the real strengths of Hindu Dharma! – Editor)

After the news was published in the Mumbai edition of ‘Daily Sanatan Prabhat’, Hindu Janajagriti Samiti and the readers of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ also protested strongly against this. Due to this strong protest, the General Manager of the company, Shri. Kiran Phadnis sent a letter tendering apology addressed to Shri. Shivaji Vatkar, district co-ordinator, Mumbai, of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti to the Thane office of daily “Sanatan Prabhat”. In this letter, Shri Phadnis states, “We apologize if the incident has hurt anybody’s religious sentiments. We will take care not to hurt any individual’s religious sentiments in the future.”

The RCF Worker Sena officials have very strongly conveyed the message to the company that henceforth such insulting plays should not be staged in the company.
