Mumbai : Shri Mahalakshmi temple anti-corruption action committee exposed the scam by the official ‘Pashchim Maharashtra Devasthan Vyavasthapan Samiti’, which is looking after 3,067 temples including Shri Mahalakshmi temple and Shri Kshetra Jotiba.
Kolhapur MLA Shri. Rajesh Kshirsagar of Shiv Sena raised a call-attention motion in the Assembly on 8th April and attracted the attention of entire Maharashtra State towards the scam. Replying to the motion, Chief Minister Shri. Devendra Fadnavis said, “The issues raised by MLA Shri. Rajesh Kshirsagar are very serious. In order to conduct a thorough inquiry into the scam, State Government would appoint a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID). Many MLAs appreciated the action of MLA Shri. Rajesh Kshirsagar when he raised a call-attention motion about the scam worth crores of rupees by the Temple Committee. Shri. Rajesh Kshirsagar said in the House, “Hindu Janajagruti Samiti had made a demand for the inquiry into the scam by CID. The Chief Minister has consented to the demand”. He also displayed the leaflet of Samiti in the House.

However, the agitation will continue till the accused in the scam by ‘Pashchim Maharashtra Devasthan Vyavasthapan Samiti’ are punished”, said Shri. Sunil Ghanavat, State Organiser of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti in a press note. He also said that the inquiry should be completed within given time-frame and the temples taken over by the Government should be handed over back to devotees.
