Thane (Maharashtra): Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha has been organized by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) on May 14, 2008 at Vartaknagar, Thane (W). As a part of its preparations, meetings were held in different parts of Thane like Vartaknagar, Naupada, Kalwa, Kolshet, Jaagmaataa, in Thane (E) etc. The meetings were conducted by office-bearers of HJS viz. Shri. Ajay Sambhus, Thane district-coordinator, Shri. Shivaji Vatkar, district-coordinator for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts, Shri. Nandkumar Thakur, Co-ordinator of Naupada and Mrs. Shaila Ghag. In these meetings, activities of HJS were explained and purpose of holding such ‘Dharma-sabhas’ were made clear.
People attending the meetings were motivated to offer everything like body, mind and wealth and whole-heartedly participate in the ‘Dharma-sabha’. The meetings were attended by about 150 devout Hindus. Shri. Deepak Medhekar, Thane city chief of Bajarang Dal offered to make arrangements for breakfast for the workers of HJS. Shri. Jayendra Madhavi, office-bearer of Auto-rickshaw Union offered to display banner on the back of his auto-rickshaw advertising details about the meeting. Shri. Dhananjay Deodhar agreed to join the ‘prasar’ activities; Shri. Shankar Bhosale offered to collect donations for the sabha. Shri. Anil More, chief of Dharma-rakshak group of Bajarang Dal, Shri. Prakash Phatak of VHP, Shri. Sudhakar Vaidya of Kopineshwar temple, Yajurvediya Brahmin Sanstha, Shri. Ravindra Prabhudesai, Director of Pitambari group of industries, Adv. Subhash Kale, ex-dy. Mayor, Shri. Suresh Kolte of Maharashtra Nav-nirman Sena assured to participate in prasar activities. Shri. Sanjay Waghule, Thane city president of BJP offered to get sponsorship for 5 flex banners in 10-12 sizes and obtain advertisements for the ‘Dharma-sabha’ special issue. Shri. Umesh Shetty, vice president of Hotel Association and president of Karnataka Mahasangh, Shri. Sambhaji Suryarao, Vartaknagar Shakha-pramukh of Shiv Sena, Pujya Dhanaji Mahale Baba, Pujya Anna Warade, a devotee of Swami Samarth spoke about their views and agreed to participate in the Sanstha’s activities.
