Demands :
• Do not deprive your children of Hindu culture by admitting them in convent schools.
• Deleting the word ‘Secular’ from the Constitution stop appeasing the minorities !
Ponda (Goa) : It has been observed through many incidents that convent schools in Goa disallow Hindu students to abide by their culture and traditions.
Every Hindu parent should think, whether he/she need admit their wards in convent schools depriving their wards from following Hindu culture ?
Unanimous demands like, the Central Government should conserve ancient temples and forts in the country by stopping their ruin, take legal action against Dnyanprakash Swami of Uraling math in Karnataka for setting fire to Shrimadbhagvadgita and Prof. K.S. Bhagvan for insulting the Gita, were made by all devout Hindu Organisations under the banner of National Hindu Movement at the time of the demonstration held on 19th April at the old bus stand in Ponda.
This was a part of the National Hindu Movement held all over the country.
The demonstration commenced after offering a coconut to the local Deity, Shri Zareshwar. In his introductory speech, Dr. Manoj Solanki explained the purpose of the Movement. Thereafter devout Indus addressed the gathering. Many parents whose wards were deprived from following Hindus culture, cited examples stating, how their girls were not allowed to wear bangles, apply kumkum on the forehead, to wear Indian dress etc. in short, to abide by Hindu culture, in various convent schools in Goa.
Hearing all the reports, an appeal was made to such parents then, to think whether they should admit their children in convent schools where their culture and traditions are at stake ?
The following demands were also made in the same Movement stating that, the word, ‘Secular’ which was not there in the original Constitution but was illegally /unofficially incorporated later during the period of Emergency, should be removed and by stopping appeasement of the minorities, Law of equality should be passed immediately.
Shri. Rahul Vaze compered and offered vote of thanks. Shri. Govind Chodankar put forth the resolutions.
