Mumbai (Maharashtra): "The government should implement the common civil code and the anti-conversion law which would prevent conversion by enticement. But government is dithering in the matter which shows that it secretly supports the conversions." Jagadguru Narendracharyaji Maharaj expressed his firm view here.

Enticing the people with false attractions the Christian missionaries are trying to convert the poor Hindus tribals in small pockets of villages and swelling their religion. As an active and effective remedy on the situation, the Jagadguru has started a movement of re-admitting the converted Hindus back in Hindu dharma. Yesterday 1893 converted Hindus underwent purification ceremony and were readmitted in Hindu dharma in Shimpoli village in Borivali by the Jagadguru. While speaking with the media-persons on the occasion, Jagadguru Narendracharyaji Maharaj took a strong stand on the issue.

He said, "There are poor people in Christianity also. But the missionaries do not help them. Why? Why do they help only the poor people in Hindu dharma only? What kind of humanity is this? Thus it becomes clear that in the name of help, the missionaries want to increase their religion. If this is their ‘mission’, we also have undertaken a mission of bringing into Hindu dharma all those converted Hindus. A grand programme has been arranged with this objective in February 2009 in Ratnagiri."
