Sanctum of Tryambakeshwar temple may be left open only for an hour for ‘darshan’

• Is there Mughal regime to take such kind of decisions ?

• Ban on offering ‘Panchamrut’, ‘gandh’ and ‘akshata’

These ‘Dharma-drohis’ reducing period of ‘darshan’ to one hour from 8-8-1/2 hours, may tomorrow, impose total ban on entering and having ‘darshan’ in sanctum sanctorum !

Nashik (Maharashtra) : From 1st May 2015, devotees can have ‘darshan’ by going to sanctum of the famous Jyotirlinga Shri Tryambakeshwar Mahadev Temple for only one hour between 6.00 a.m. and 7.00 a.m. Ban has been imposed on offering ‘panchamrut, ‘gandh’ and ‘akshata’ inside the sanctum.

Devasthan Trust has issued a press release conveying the above decision based on the guiding principles laid down by Archaeology Department. Devotees will be able to have ‘darshan’ inside the temple, except sanctum, from morning as the temple is opened, till its closure in night. 1. General body meeting of Shri. Tryambakeshwar Devasthan Trust was held recently wherein it was decided to stop offerings of ‘Panchamrut’, ‘Gandh’, ‘Akshata’, so as to arrest erosion of the idol/ ‘Shiva-linga’. The decision was taken for saving devotees’ time standing in line for ‘darshan’ and to reduce crowding of sanctum. 2. Earlier, devotees were allowed to enter sanctum for 9-1/2 hours wearing ‘sovale’, special attire. The temple is opened at 5.30 a.m. Priests appointed by the Government come by 7 to 7.30 a.m. So far, devotees were allowed in sanctum in between period of 1-1/2 hours; as also from 9.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.; 12.30 noon to 7 p.m. i.e. for total 9-1/2 hours.
