Centuries old Panchaloha idol stolen from ancient temple in Nellore

Nellore : Three centuries old Panchaloha idol of Sri Medha Dakshinamurthy was stolen by some unidentified men from ancient Kasi Viswanath Swamy Temple in Venkatagiri town of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh in wee hours of Saturday.

The temple was built by Venkatagiri Raja around 300 years back. Scion of Venkatagiri Rajas, Saikrishna Yachendra said the stolen idol is priceless. The idol weighed around 100 kilograms.

Police reached the spot with sniffer dogs and has begun investigation into the matter.
