Central Government should withdraw anti-Hindu decisions of removing ‘Om’ from ‘Yoga’-practice and depositing gold from temples in banks! – Demand by demonstrators
Udupi – On 9th May, demonstrations were staged under auspices of ‘Rashtriya Hindu Andolan’ near local bus-stand to oppose anti-Hindu decisions taken by the Central Government like removal of ‘Om’ from ‘Yoga’ – practice and depositing gold from temples in banks. Members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and devout Hindus participated in the demonstrations.
Shri. Vishwanath Nayak of HJS said, “It is wrong to use gold from temples for obtaining necessary funds for development. The Central Government should bring back ‘black’ money deposited in foreign banks for the same. Gold in temple is faith of devotees and it should be used only for ‘Dharma-karya’.” Shri. Chittaranjan Hegade of VHP said,” “It is totally wrong on the part of the Government to remove ‘Om’ from ‘Yoga’- practice only to show that it was secular.
‘Om’ has great significance in Hindu Dharma; therefore, ‘Om’ should not be removed by the Government.” Shri. Gopalkrushna Mallya demanded that the Government should take stringent action against those who are trying to inculcate ‘sanskars’ of indecency amongst future generation.
