Pune (Maharashtra): ‘All India Krushi Gou-seva Sangh’ staged demonstrations blocking the roads for their demand and to pressurize the Maharashtra Government for implementation of ‘Law for protection of animals’ and to stop slaughter of cows. The demonstrations were held at Khed Shivapur on Pune Satara Highway under the leadership of Shri. Kesarichand Mehta, the central president of RSS. During the demonstrations, traffic was held up on both the sides of the highway.
(For prevention of cow-slaughter and to shake up the Government, Hindus have to take to the roads ! – Editor) Leaders of many parties, Shri. Milind Ekbote, Shri. Pandit Modak, Shri. Ajit Pawar, Shri. Dinabhau Konde, Shri. Harishchandra Kondhare, Shri. Vinayakrao Sanas, Shri. Digambar Dawari, Shri. Uday Purandare, Shri. Khandu Konde, member of Zilha Parishad, Shri. Ajit Surpuria, Shri. Yogesh Konde, Shri. Alpesh Konde, Shri. Chandrakant Bade Hawaldar (Sar panch), Shri. Arun shet Dangat etc. participated in the agitations along with large number of ,members of the respective parties. Shri. Kedarichand Mehta performed ‘puja’ of a cow and fed her jaggery. A meeting was later arranged under the president- ship of Shri. Mehta after the demonstrations. Shri. Pandit Modak, Shri. Dinabhau Konde and Shri. Milind Ekbote addressed the meeting and expressed their views. Shri. Mehta said that such farmers, who had reared cows, did not have to commit suicide. Shri. Mehta said further that cow-dung is more beneficial than chemical fertilizers for growing crops. Cow giving cow-dung and ‘gou-mutra’ is like a family.
