Condemn ‘DTB’ for deities characterised as humanbeings

Jyeshtha Shuddha Ekadashi

Nagpur (Maharashtra): In the supplementary edition on ‘Economics’ of Marathi newspaper ‘Dainik Tarun Bharat (DTB)’, an article is being published, for the past 3 weeks, on trade and industry in the form of conversation between Sree Saraswati Devi and Sree Laxmi Devi. (Would DTB dare to give such conversation between Lord Jesus and Mother Mary or among objects of worship of Muslims. Such heretics have become so insolent because Hindus do not speak in the language used by Muslims – Editor) Picture of Sree Saraswati Devi has been printed on the left side of the article and picture of Sree Laxmi Devi, on the right side of the article. The conversation between them is on politics and is strewn with humor. The deities have thus been characterized as human beings. (Hindus must not forgive such heretics for personifying deities – Editor)

In the issue of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ dated 5th June, news on the above matter was published. S/Shri. Dilip Pagnis and Jayant Bendre, members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) met Shri. Sudhir Pathak, the editor of DTB on learning about the detrimental matter about Dharma being published in DTB and made him aware of the damage caused to Dharma; but he contended that there was no mockery of deities and the article would be continued to be published. (DTB supposed to be a pro-Hindu newspaper, is not bothered about religious sentiments of their brethren – Editor) Shri. Sudhir Pathak told members of HJS that the article was being published to educate people. (Are Hindu deities the only medium available for educating people? – Editor) He also said that it was not the intention to insult deities. (Rather than his feelings, it is important to see what the editor is really trying to say through his actions. It is like we beat someone and say that it was not our intention to harm him when he gets injured – Editor) Moreover, he gave an explanation that as Sree Saraswati Devi is the deity of knowledge, the conversation has been shown between her and Sree Laxmi Devi.
