Mumbai (Maharashtra): Hitting a new controversy, Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray has called for setting up suicide squads to ward off terrorism.

Thackeray has written a controversial editorial in the Sena’s mouthpiece — Samanaa, in which the editorial calls for the formation of Hindu suicide squads. Thackeray says, "The threat of Islamic terror in India is rising. It is time to counter the same with Hindu terror. Hindu suicide squads should be readied to ensure existence of Hindu society."

The article further says, "When I heard of Hindu’s making bombs, I was happy but the fact that there were used to injure Hindus made me feel ashamed of them."

Thackeray has slammed a Hindu group alleged to have been behind the recent bomb blasts at a theatre in Thane near Mumbai.

However, this statement has earned the ire of RSS which said that Hindu scriptures give no permission for terrorist activities.
