Ram temple not priority, development is : Rajnath Singh

Can Rajnath Singh explain that why Ram Mandir is not priority for his BJP government ? Hindus should note that day-by-day BJP is drifting away from issues like nationwide cow slaughter ban, Ram Mandir and removal of Article 370. So now it is inevitable for Hindus to unite and establish Hindu Rashtra ! – Editor, HJS

New Delhi : Home minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya and abrogation of Article 370, two core issues of BJP, are not the government’s priorities for now as it remains focused on development.

While conceding that the two issues are indeed important, Singh told a press conference that “we (the government) have to set our priorities … at this time, we are focusing on development”. Singh made these observations when asked about BJP President Amit Shah’s reported statement that the party would need to win 370 Lok Sabha seats to address its core agenda.

Stating that the Ram temple issue is sub-judice, the home minister said: “An appeal against the high court ruling is pending before the Supreme Court … Wait for the judgment. If nothing works out, representatives of both the communities can settle the matter amicably between themselves.”

Singh, who was briefing mediapersons on NDA government’s first year in office, parried questions on repeal of Article 370, stating that a coalition government had just been installed in Jammu & Kashmir.
