Ichalkaranji (Maharashtra): Imran Maula Kalawant (age 25 yrs), an English teacher from Alphonso School on Sangali-Ichalakaranji Road used to behave in an indecent manner with girl students and record the same on his mobile phone for sending picture SMS. Locals caught hold of him, beat him up and finally paraded him on a donkey. The accused is presently in police custody and locals have demanded stringent action against him by taking a march to the police station.
The news in detail is that the said Imran Maula Kalawant was indulging in such indecent behaviour for the past 2 years. He was exposed when he sent a picture -SMS to a relative of one of his girl-students and the relative went to the school along with few locals and showed the picture-SMS to the school management. This created tension in the school. As Kalawant left the school, some persons followed and caught hold of him and beat him up near Dynamic grounds. Later, he admitted to his nefarious activities that made people even angrier and they garlanded him with shoes and paraded him on a donkey. In Janata Chowk, police took him in custody. People, however, took out a march and Prof. Shekhar Shah, Shri. Sanjay Telanade, a member of Municipal Education Board, Shri. Jitu Hazare etc. met Additional Police Superintendent and Rural Police Superintendent and demanded strict action against Kalawant and his abettor named Asim Salim Khalat. Both of them were later arrested and mobile phones, laptop, VCD and material required for video-shooting was confiscated from them. Imran has admitted to District Police Superintendent about his behaving indecently with 2 girl students and recording the same on his mobile phone.
