Omkareshwar : Administration prohibits devotees from offering ‘puja’ material during ‘Parva’ period

Dhar (Madhya Pradesh) : The local administration in BJP ruled Madhya Pradesh (MP) has decided to impose ban on devotees for offering water, ‘bel-leaves’ and other material used for ‘puja’ during the ‘Parva-kaal’ of ‘Jyotirlinga’. Shri-Teertha Shanda Sangh’ from Omkareshwar has opposed the decision and warned the Government that more than 500 families would embrace Islam if there was interference in religious rituals by the Government. The local administration has prohibited devotees to offer water, ‘Bel-leaves’ and other ‘puja’ material to ‘Jyotirlinga’; therefore, many devotees could not perform ‘puja’ in traditional manner on the occasion of Ganga Dashami and the enraged ‘Shanda Sangha’ gave the above warning. After the warning, District Collector Mahesh Agarwal claimed that he had no knowledge of such ban imposed by the administration.
