There are certain ‘Beej-mantras’ prescribed in Hindu Dharma for different purposes. One of the purposes is curing ailments. Among them, ‘Om’ is the most important ‘Beej-mantra’. In Srimatbhagavat Geeta, ‘Omkar’ has been described as ‘Ekakshar Brahma’. ‘Om’ is uttered first before reciting any ‘mantra’. Power of saying ‘Om’ is experienced by followers of even other Sects and few such examples are given below.

1. Cure for arthritis : Abdul Sader was suffering from arthritis for many years. He chanted ‘Om’ every day for 30 times. Now, he can read ‘namaz’ 5 times daily.

2. Improvement in spinal problem : A patient named Edwin was suffering from spinal problem. He started chanting ‘Om’ and his distress was reduced.

Dr. Kanimozi, ‘Yoga’-expert from Chennai has many patients in his hospital who are non-Hindus but chant ‘Om’. According to Dr. Kanimozi, uttering of ‘Om’ brings positive changes in body cells; therefore, ailments, which cannot be cured by other medicines, can be cured with chanting of ‘Om’. Dr. Kanimozi also informed that many patients were now turning towards this remedy.

Followers of other Sects are experiencing the power of chanting ‘Om’. Not only ‘Om’, but they are experiencing power of even other ‘mantras’ in Hindu Dharma, chants of different Deities and ‘Yogasanas’.

Even then, BJP’s Central Government removed ‘Om’ and ‘Surya- namaskar’ from celebration of world Yoga Day due to its habit of appeasement of minorities and under pressure from fanatics. It is actually against Dharma-shastra to celebrate ‘Yoga-Day’ without “Om’ and ‘Surya-namaskar’. The World Yoga Day was falling on Sunday and as Christians have their Sunday – mass prayer in the morning, Christian schools from Goa refused to join ‘Yoga-Day’.

BJP Government, bowing before them, declared that it was not compulsory for schools to celebrate ‘Yoga-Day’. It is one of the most apparent examples of lack of ‘Dharma-shikshan’ and love and respect amongst Hindus towards Hindu Dharma. It is the duty of every Hindu towards Dharma to explain importance of Hindu Dharma to their brethren and awaken love and respect amongst them towards own Dharma; besides opposing customs and traditions which are against Hindu Dharma !
