Puri Shankaracharya : 'Send the insolent rulers to hell'

Shankaracharya of Puri – peetham thunders about Ram-setu, nuclear deal and malpractices in Parliament

Orissa: Shankaracharya Shrimat Jagatguru Ananta Shri Swami Nishchalananda Saraswatiji Maharaj of Sree Govardhana Peeth from Puri said in a press conference held recently that it was not the only duty of Shankaracharyas to protect the faith and revered objects but it was also their responsibility to protect all such revered things significant from the viewpoint of national security. “Therefore, he said, we shall not allow breaking of the ‘Ram-setu’ from the security viewpoint even if we have to face third world war”. He gave a warning that let all the insolent rulers be deposed and Shankaracharyas be appointed in their place. He took an oath to bring in the Government as per the need of the time.

He said further, “Our rulers are deceiving the whole world including the Supreme Court. A good judge is always honest. He knows that one who constantly changes his statement is fit to be punished. Directionless government has now accepted the existence of Rama and wants to misguide the Court by submitting a written statement that the ‘Setu’ was destroyed by Rama. The post of Chief Justice belongs to Shankaracharya taking into account all i.e. religious, spiritual, political, social and economic angles; therefore, I am making this statement as a Judge. The ‘Ramcharitmanas’ by Tulsidas, is based on ‘Ananda Ramayana’ in Sanskrit.

I proclaim on the basis of the maxims referred therein that the books based on Sanskrit or other translated versions of Ramayana do not describe the event from ‘Treta-yuga’ if they claim that Rama destroyed the ‘Ram-setu’. There could be some changes with the passage of time but this matter has to be examined by us and not by respected Court. Those in power are blurting out anything to misguide the whole world.”

Regarding nuclear deal, he said, “There is no government in India. None of the parties is fit to rule this country. How can the Central Government which is destroying the stock of ‘Thorium’, take this country on the path of development by having nuclear deal with USA? The Government surely wants to exploit. By destroying the stock of ‘Thorium’, the Government is acting as traitor and definitely has no intention of progress. Nowhere in the world, there is such invaluable treasure like ‘Rama-setu’. We can not accept the Government which is eager to destruct Ram-setu.”
