Shravan Shuddha Trayodashi
Bhyandar (Maharashtra): This is the 62nd year of independence. Republic Day and Independence Day are celebrated in India with great enthusiasm by all government, semi-government and private organizations with hoisting of flag. From past few years, children are distributed plastic flags in such programs; but they are not explained anything either by the parents or teachers about maintenance of dignity of this national flag. After the flag hoisting programs therefore, the flags are found strewn on the roads, gutters in mutilated form.
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has submitted a representation to Shri. Narendra Mehta to prevent desecration of national flags in the above manner. Shri. Mehta assured that instructions would be given to all schools in the area. He also promised to issue a pamphlet on the subject and praised activities of HJS related to protection of nation.
HJS also submits representation to Lasalgaon police for prevention of desecration of national flag
Lasalgaon (Maharashtra): HJS submitted a representation to Shri. Dabhade, Police Inspector. It has been mentioned in the representation that plastic and paper flags are openly available in market although there is a ban on their sale. After the Independence Day celebrations, the flags are thrown on the roads, gutters and everywhere. Such insult of national flags is wrong and is an offence under the law; but the Government is not taking any measures to stop such desecration. A CD was shown on the occasion showing mutilated flags when all the viewers felt bad.
Similar representation was also given on behalf of BJP in the presence of Shri. Nilesh Bora of HJS, Shri. Dattulal Sharma of BJP, Shri Shivaji Surase of Shiv Sena, Shri. Aniruddha Holkar of Gou-raksha Seva Samiti and Shri. Baba Jadhav of Baba – Amarnath group. Shri. Dabhade assured that instructions will be given in and surrounding areas to prevent desecration of national flag.
