Satara (Maharashtra) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) submitted representations to owners and managers of theatres at Satara, Karad, Vaduj, Umbraj, Wai, Koregaon, Rahimatpur etc. against anti-Hindu films ‘Mohalla Assi’ and ‘Guddu Rangeela’ for denigrating Deities.
The above information was given by Shri. Hanmant Kadam, the District Coordinator of HJS. He said, “Representations have been submitted at 11 places against the two films ‘Mohalla Assi’ and ‘Guddu Rangeela’ like Radhika, Samarth and Rajlakshmi theatres in Satara, ‘Nataraj’ and ‘Prabhat’ Chitra-Mandir in Karad, Manisha and Alankar Theatres at Vaduj, Shubham Chitra-Mandir from Umbraj, New Chitra Theatre, Wai, Daulat theatre, Koregaon and Prabhat Chitra-Mandir, Raghunathpur (Rahimatpur).
Positive response has been received from theatre-owners and managers about not showing the films. Few theatre-owners even called up film distributors in front of us and asked them to not send prints of the films.”
Shri. Kadam also informed that similar representations would be given to police and Government administration.
