National Interchurch Centre in USA to launch with Vedas

USA: Newly established retreat center of National Association of Interchurch and Interfaith Families of USA will start its inaugural retreat in December with mantras from ancient Hindu scriptures.

Acclaimed Hindu leader Rajan Zed has been invited to launch the retreat with shlokas (hymns) from Rig-Veda, oldest existing scripture of the world, dated around 1,500 BCE. He plans to begin with the most sacred verse "Gayatri Mantra".  Zed is the president of Universal Society of Hinduism.

TAMBO (which expands as "That All May Be One") Retreat Center in Stagecoach (Nevada) is being developed under the leadership of husband-wife team of Michael and Barbara Slater, who head the National Association of Interchurch and Interfaith Families which helps such families grow in understanding and live in harmony. While Michael is Episcopalian, his wife Barbara is Roman Catholic.

Slaters say, "TAMBO is a place where all will feel comfortable communicating with God through the beauty of His creation and prayer." When fully completed, it will have an interfaith chapel, conference center, meditation corners, guesthouse, etc., and counselors will be available to assist interfaith and interchurch couples and their children.
