All India Vice-President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Hukumchand Sawla expressed the need for the State government to enact a law against cow slaughter and tough action against those indulging in cow slaughter.
Addressing a public meeting organised following the Gokraksha Rally by the VHP and Go Samraksha Samithi here on Monday, Mr. Sawla said that the fast declining numbers of cows was a cause of concern and there was a need for steps to address it.
Mr. Sawla said as in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, the State too should enact a law against slaughter of cows. “Any government that allows cow slaughter will not be in power for long,” he said.
Earlier, activists came in a rally demanding tough action of the State government against slaughter of cows.
