Issue related to idol of Shri Mahalakshmi, Kolhapur
Kolhapur : A meeting was held between members of Temple Committee and its secretary, representatives of Shri-pujak, representatives of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and few devout worshippers of the Goddess at District Collector’s office on 24th July 2015. The District Collector had stated that process of chemical coating on idol would not be stopped but after the process on 6th August, HJS should give a letter for installation of new idol as a long-lasting solution so that it could be considered. Accordingly, HJS gave a letter to the District Collector and President of Temple Committee requesting for arranging a meeting to discuss the issue of installation of a new idol as per Hindu Dharmashastra.
