Panaji (Goa): Terrorism poses a major threat to the nation today. There is an urgent need to put aside all differences and think about what one can do at the micro level to tackle this problem. In order to create awareness in this regard, the HJS has launched a state-wide awareness campaign against terrorism.

As a part of this, ‘anti-terrorism awareness meetings’ will be held at the taluka level from 26th September. The 1st meeting was scheduled on 26th September at 6.30 pm at Sree Sateri Minihall, Khorlim, Mapusa followed by another meeting on the 27th September at 6.30 pm at Vidyadhiraj Hall (near Sree Mahalaxmi Temple, Panaji).

It is a fact that every citizen has a right to lead a safe life as per the Indian Constitution and it is the duty of the government to ensure this. Due to terrorism, citizens are being deprived of this fundamental right. Thus, there is an urgent need for politicians to shed their attitude of politicising every issue and participate in such campaigns to ensure that citizens are not deprived of their fundamental rights.

There is an urgent need that the government induces measures to impart training on emergency relief, first-aid and fire-fighting on a war-footing level.  Also, it is necessary to pay public homage to the warrior police inspector Late Mohanchand Sharma of New Delhi who lost his life during an encounter with terrorists.

If social organisations, self-help groups, etc. join hands with a strong will, then it is possible to put up a successful fight against terrorism. The HJS has launched the above campaign with this intention and it appeals to everybody to take part in this campaign and serve the Nation and Dharma (Righteousness).
