Mumbai: An anti-Hindu painter Vineet Kakkar had held an exhibition of his work including pictures of deities painted on ceramic footwear. Shri. Arvind Gawde, president of the Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS)
office at Colaba and his party workers forced the organizers to remove such denigrating works of art from the exhibition, stopped the exhibition with the help of police and thus helped in prevention of denigration of deities.
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) members visited his office at Colaba and congratulated him. He was also presented with a ‘sattvik’ picture of Sree Ganapati created by Sanatan Sanstha. At this time, they showed Shri. Gawade a VCD about activities of the HJS related to prevention of denigration of deities. He was also informed that the news regarding ‘the MNS preventing denigration of Hindu deities’ was published on HJS’ website so as to reach Hindus all over the world. When he learnt about denigration of deities through the medium of crackers, he immediately said that such denigration should be stopped and assured HJS members that he would issue a circular to all branches of MNS so also to vendors of fire crackers to this effect. He said that till Marathi people do not change their attitude of being unconcerned and indifferent to everything, the situation would not change. He said that in convent schools, examinations are conducted during Ganesha festival and children are kept away from celebrating the festival. All such injustice should be stopped.
