Rashtriya Hindu Andolan at Ponda 2

Ponda – Demonstrations were organised under the aegis of RHA (Rashtriya Hindu Andolan) at the old bus stand, Ponda on 16th August 2015. Through this medium, the following demands were put forth,

1. Christian Institutions are pressurising the BJP Government to sanction grants for Christian Convent schools. With a view to appease the Christian community the BJP Government is trying to pass a law concerning the grants to be sanctioned for English medium Primary schools. An atmosphere is being created stating that if the Diocesan Societies are closed then there is no possibility of children in the state to receive education. But as the situation is not so the Government should remain firm and stop this agitation by not accepting to provide grants to English medium Primary schools.

2. The Central Government should take stringent action against those who are supporting the terrorist Yakub by declaring them as ‘Anti-Nationals’.

3. The exhibition ‘Shaan-E-Pakistan’ to be held jointly by ‘Karachi Chamber of Commerce’, ‘Pakistan High Commission’ and ‘Federation of Indian Export Organisation in New Delhi from 11th to 13th September 2015 and the programme of Kavvali and a fashion show organised in the name of ‘Ek Naam Pakistan ke Naam’ during the same period should be cancelled.

The demonstration commenced with reciting a shloka. Dr. Manoj Solanki, the Convener of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Goa gave introduction of the andolan and explained it’s purpose. Thereafter, devout Hindu speakers made following demands while addressing the audience – Strong action should be taken on the officials of ‘FORCE’ for instigating people to disrupt law and order, Indian culture should be conserved, priority should be given to the education in regional languages for appropriate development of children. Similarly there should be a code of conduct passed like that in America with regard to disallowing any debate on any TV channel or meetings once a terrorist is punished by the Supreme Court and the President has rejected his mercy plea. There was also an appeal stating that People’s representatives’ efforts to disturb the harmony in the society in the name of religion should be considered as inappropriate. Mr. Rahul Vaze compered and gave a vote of thanks. In the end, Mr. Govind Chodankar, co-ordinator of North Goa, HJS proposed the resolutions.
