Nandurbar : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) held an exhibition on life history of revolutionaries, known and unknown, which is not found in text books or in other educational system. The exhibition was held in D. R. Kane Girls’ High School’s Gymkhana Hall and was visited by hundreds of students.
The exhibition was held on 12th August to kindle patriotism amongst students. 2500 Students of Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary school and college run by Nandurbar Education Society visited the exhibition. The exhibition was first inaugurated by Shri. Ashok Tembhekar, the President of the Sanstha by worshipping a picture-frame of ‘Bharatmata’ and lighting a lamp. Shri. Tembhekar said, “Information on revolutionaries who have sacrificed everything including their life for the country, sets an ideal before students and is required to be known to today’s young generation. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has been undertaking this important task and such exhibitions should be held often.” Shri. Pankaj Pathak, Joint Secretary of the Sanstha also appealed to students to keep the revolutionaries as their ideals while commending HJS’ drive. Dr. Narendra Patil of HJS compeered the program and also thanked all concerned for granting permission to hold such exhibition. HJS activists, viz. Shri. Raju Chaudhary, Shri. Akash Gavit, Shri. Shubham Kalal, Shri. Amol Thakare, Sou. Vanita Patil, Sou. Bharati Pundit and Sou. Chhayatai Sonar participated in this drive.
Highlights
Many students said while seeing the exhibition that names of revolutionaries like Pritilata Vaddedar, Sardar Udham Singh, Madanlal Dhingra, Chadrashekhar Azad etc. were not known to them as nothing has been given in text books; but they were happy to read about them in the exhibition.
