Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A Dharma Jagruti Sabha was planned to be held on November 9, 2008 at the Dashara Maidan at Indore by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, but permission to carry out the Dharma Sabha was denied at the last moment by the concerend authorities under the pretext of the on-coming Vidhan Sabha Elections which require certain legal requirements. (Why is it that such rules are remembered and influenced only upon the Hindus? Why aren’t Muslim religious gatherings or meetings ever stopped under such legal requirements? – Editor)
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti confirmed today at the Press club that ‘Due to the above circumstances, the Dharma Jagruti Sabha has been cancelled’. At this meeting, Dr. Pandurang Marathe of HJS and Shri. Beny Singh Raghuvanshi spoke to news reporters.
On the evening of 9th November at 5 pm the HJS had declared that they will be conducting a discourse to provide guidance on the Importance of “Dharma-acharan”, (Importance of following the code of conduct laid down by Dharma (Religion). Dr. Pandurang Marathe member of HJS, commented that the permission for this event was obtained on 21st October from the District In- Charge and it was granted on the very next day by them, but it was the local legal authroties that was avoiding granting the permission. (What kind of a civil organisation is this? This shows that the Government Legal authorities really do not care for the time or money of the general public! – Editor)
The HJS activisits went several times to the Disitrict Legal authorities seeking their permission for this nobel cause. (Do the legal authorities think that the public are beggars? – Editor) Inspite of explaining the activities of the HJS and the purpose of this discourse, they did not grant permission. In reality there is no need for a non-politaical organisation to seek legal permission to conduct something related to religious educatiaon, even then they were sent higher up to seek permission from legal authorities. (Why this treatment towards Hindus? This only shows their bias towards Hindus – Editor)
For the Rally to spread awareness of the ‘Sabha’ as well the authorities had a stance which indicated that ‘Since we are under a special circumstance right now it is not advisable to talk against a particular sect or religion, if that happens, it turns out to be a legal offense’. Dr. Marathe thanked the people of Indore saying that ; “The cooperation and enthusiasm of the general public in Indore to this Sabha has increased its importance and awareness and we are really in deep gratitude to the people of Indore.” At this media meeting more than 27 news reporters from vairious media were present.
