Shrikshetra Kavanai (Dist. Nasik) : Jagatguru, Mahants, Mahamandaleshwars and ‘sadhu-Saints’ had holy bath at Kapildhara Teertha with great enthusiasm and faith; where ‘Simhastha –Parva’ used to be held right from ‘Satya-Yuga’ till the year 1770. ‘Shri Digambar Panchayati Ani Akhada’, ‘Shri Nirvani Panchayati Ani Akhada’ and ‘Shri Nirmohi Panchayati Ani Akhada’ participated in this ‘Shahi Snan’ besides thousands of devotees.

People complained about Maharashtra Government totally neglecting development of Kavanai Teertha although it is the original venue for holding ‘Simhastha-Parva’. The local residents compiled written feedbacks of devotees visiting this teertha-kshetra.

Compared to the arrangements at Trimbakeshwar and Nasik, arrangements and planning; so also participation by local residents at Kanvai was better. People enjoyed such ‘Parvani’ snan without any hassles. Police were on duty from 5 a.m. but all planning done by local residents was good.

Highlights

  1. Police had harassed devotees in the name of security; at the time of first holy bath at Nasik and Trimbakeshwar; but this time, police were directing devotees towards the ‘Kund’.
  2. Mahant Shri. Falahari Baba helped Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in every possible way in putting up their posters and banners etc.; therefore, they could carry out extensive ‘prasar’ activities on the occasion of ‘Parvani’ and arrangements for food were also made for Sanatan’s seekers.
  3. Shri. Nandu Padekar, former Sarpanch of Kavanai Gram-panchayat had made arrangements of lodging for Sanatan seekers in a temple.
  4. Smt. Nirmala Gavit, MLA from Igatpuri acknowledged Sanatan’s activities as good.
  5. A devotee of Shri. Gajanan Maharaj Trust said, “Sanatan’s activities are commendable. Everyone should participate in them.”
  6. In the morning, ‘puja’ of ‘Kapil Teertha’ was being performed during which the local residents called Sanatan’s seeker Shri. Manohar Jadhav, who was standing there, wearing Sanatan’s apron and asked him to perform ‘puja’ of ‘Kapil teertha’.

Anti-Dharma activities by police owing to lack of ‘Dharmashikshan’

  1. Few reporters and most of the policemen standing at the ‘Kund’ during ‘Shahi-snan’ of ‘Sadhu-Saints’ and devotees, had not removed their footwear. Shri. Shailesh Pote of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ complained to the seniors about the same after which the seniors asked the staff to stand outside; but police used to again go back to ‘Kund’ without removing shoes.
  2. A policeman from bomb search squad asked a Sanatan’s seeker that when they should have bath. The seeker said that after bath of ‘Sadhu-Saints’; so he said to the seeker that the water would be polluted by then. Sanatan seeker told him that the water got ‘chaitanya’ because of bath taken by ‘sadhus-saints’; the police, however, said he couldn’t see any ‘chaitanya’. (Where there is ‘bhav’, there is God. Those, practising spirituality, feel ‘chaitanya’ which is beyond the five senses, mind and intellect. Devotees believe in what is told to them. Air is not seen; so can we say that there is no air ? Police, who do not understand spirituality, should try to learn with curious mind; rather than creating confusions by asking such questions to devotees. – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
  3. Number of police was higher than the number of ‘sadhu-saints’ and devotees standing near the ‘Kund’ after bath.
  4. Many policemen were busy on their cell phones instead of doing their duty of keeping watch; whereas local volunteers of Kapildhara and residents were more alert and looking after security. (Is there any need of such police ? Such police should be dismissed. – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
