Jalgaon : Ganesh idols should be immersed in flowing water as per Dharmashastra’ was the appeal made by Shri. Pankaj Bagul of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) during a press conference held on 4th September at Acharya Complex.

Shri. Dattareya Waghulde of Sanatan Sanstha explained about ideal way of celebrating Ganesh festival and how to acquire grace of Ganesh during the ten days; besides explaining why idols should not be donated. A VCD was shown on the occasion on ‘Ideal Ganeshotsava and reality’. An idol of Shri Ganesh made as per ‘Dharmashastra’ by ‘Shri Ganesh Kala Kendra’ was kept on exhibit.

Petition demanding immersion of idols in flowing water and ban on donation of idols was submitted to Municipal Corporation, Commissioner, Municipality at Yawal, Bhusaval, Chalisgaon, Jamner, Chopda, Amalner etc. and to local elected representatives.
