Devotees welcome processions by acclaiming Sadhus and Mahants !

Trimbakeshwar (Dist. Nasik) : Sadhus and Mahants from different ‘akhadas’ left for Kushawart –Kund, Trimbakeshwar at 3.00 a.m. for having ‘Raj Yogi Snan’. Different ‘akhadas’ had taken out processions and devotees drew ‘rangolis’ and decorations with flowers for welcoming the processions. Devotees did ‘aukshan’ of Sadhus-Mahants showering flowers on them. Presence of women devotees was noticeable.

On the occasion of second ‘Shahi-snan’ of the ‘Parvani’, about 7 lakh devotees reached Nasik and 1.5 lakh devotees arrived at Trimbakeshwar by Saturday evening. Shri. Girish Mahajan, the State Water Resources Minister and Guardian Minister of Nasik District paid a visit and welcomed the processions.

The next Kumbh-Mela will be held at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. Few Ministers from MP also reached Nasik to study the arrangements made by the State Administration for Kumbh-Mela at Nasik.

 Highlights

  1. Different kind of exercises were demonstrated by ‘Nirmohi Akhada’ in the procession taken out for the second ‘shahi-snan’ as also demonstrated use of different weapons.
  2. Women and men had drawn ‘rangolis’ in front of their houses right from 12 o’clock at midnight to welcome processions.
  3. Children were also awake and at 12.00 midnight welcomed the processions amidst acclamation of ‘Har Har Mahadev’.
  4. Sadhus from ‘akhadas’ raised slogans of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ with swords and maces in hands.
  5. Police that guarded Town Council of Trimbakeshwar, treated devotees with affection.
  6. Wash-rooms were provided for devotees at Ambedkar Chowk; but devotees complained that there was no water. Devotees were informed that due to huge crowds in the city, water tankers could not reach in time.

Devotees were at inconvenience in the absence of sign boards on roads ! 

‘Different ‘akhadas’ were reaching Kushawart using different routes for the ‘Raj Yogi Snan’. Police had put up barricades on the road to control the crowds; but there were no sign-boards to give directions to devotees about the way towards ‘Kund’ for holy bath; causing inconvenience to them. Many of them were trying to use the way meant for returning after bath and after walking ahead some distance, police were sending them back. Thus devotees coming especially from outside Nasik were facing lot of inconvenience. A woman fell during stampede at Ambedkar Chowk and got hurt on head.

Lost bag contained clothes !

A bag was found by police near the Town Council of Trimbakeshwar. Police inspected the bag with the help of dog-squad and bomb–detecting squad. There were some clothes in the bag after which police heaved a sigh of relief.
