Why is so much of water wasted over ‘Shahi Snan’ : High Court

Hindus feel that the Court should also reprove wastage of water in slaughter-houses, construction works and by companies like Pepsi !

Nasik : When more than half of Maharashtra is going through drought conditions, why is so much water being wasted for ‘Shahi / Raj Yogi Snan’ at Kumbh-Mela ?, is the question asked. In drought-stricken Maharashtra, 3 TMC water is not required for ‘Shahi-snan’. It is against the policy of the Government, advised High Court to the Government. M. Desarada had filed a petition in this regard claiming that it was misuse of water and it is not ‘Dharmaseva’. As per the information given by administrative officer, 4.50 K billion cubic ft. water has been released from the dam this year which included drinking water supplied to Nasik District. Last year 3800 billion cubic ft water was released.

It is a ploy to defame Dharma ! – Mahant Sudhirdas

It is a ploy to defame Dharma. It is fabrication. 1000 tmcft water has been released for all 3 ‘Parvanis’ together. 1000 tmcft means 1 tmc water. 1 crore devotees are expected to visit. If adequate water is not provided, it may lead to health problems and there is no need of releasing water for Trimbakeshwar since there are internal water streams.
