Do’s and Don’ts of Ganeshotsav !
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti conducted a special campaign to create awareness about Ganeshotsav, How it should be, How it should not be at Veer Savarkar Netaji Matriculation School, Kolathur, Chennai on 11th September 2015. Around 250 students from fourth standard to 10th standard and about 15 teachers took benefit of event.
This awareness lecture started with prayer and Ganapati Shloka. Shri. Shriram Luktuke of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti briefed on video & interacted with students. After watching video on Ganeshotsav, students understood the main reason underlying its celebration at public places. Sou. Suganthi Jaikumar explained the do’s & dont’s about the festival. For example, avoid electrical lighting, using idol made from natural clay, not to play film music, idol immersion to be done at flowing water and the reason behind it was also explained. Event was concluded by offering gratitude unto Deity Ganesh.
Highlights:
- The school management & all the staff was very cooperative and receptive for awareness program.
- Later HJS activists interacted separately with 10th standard students and tried to explain importance of inculcating virtues. HJS activists showed willingness to help them to understand and put it in to practice ‘Virtues Development program’ by meeting them every week.
