Nagpur (Maharashtra): The Doliyas say that a Hindu getting kidnapped for a huge ransom in Pakistan is nothing unusual. But that fate would play such a cruel game with their family is something that they never imagined.

Twenty-six-year-old Niranjan Doliya, one of the many Pakistani nationals in Nagpur on a long term visa and wanting to make India his permanent home, is among three Hindu Sindhis abducted from Godki in Sindh province of Pakistan in the last fortnight. His family informed TOI that no one has been freed yet and that the kidnappers are demanding Rs 25 lakhs.

Apart from Doliya, Shankarlal Batra of Mirpur Mathelo and Hasmat Ram from Khanpur Mahar are the others to have been kidnapped. All three were abducted from Godki. “Hindus are soft targets to kidnap as they do not have strong support. Without paying the ransom, there is no hope to get a Hindu released,” said Doliya’s younger sister Sarika.

Doliya’s mother Ishanbai and Sarika came to know about the kidnapping, which took place at 7.45 pm on November 26, on the next day. The two had gone to a temple near Nagpur when they got the news. They have not left the temple since, praying and waiting for some news of Niranjan.
