Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) : There is no proof in official holy scriptures about Sages-Seers consuming beef during ancient times. Such claim is therefore, false. RJD leader and former Central Minister Raguvansh Prasad Yadav had recently made a statement about Sages- Seers consuming beef in olden times. Mahant Dnyanadas Maharaj raised a strong objection on this statement. He said leaders like Raghuvansh Yadav could stoop to any level to gain power. (Stringent action should be taken against those making such statements hurting religious sentiments of Hindus. Mahant said, “Cow is worshipped like a mother and a Deity by Hindus. A child is fed cow’s milk after that of mother. Cow therefore, bestows life just as mother. There is possibility that ancestors of Raghuvansh Prasad might have consumed beef. Before making such controversial statements, these leaders should think about self; but it is unfortunate for people that leaders like Laluprasad Yadav and Raghuvanshprasad Yadav can stoop to any level for power.”
