Charge fine to companies which do not use Marathi for their leaflets and covers to give information of their products manufactured in Maharashtra !

State Govt. issues circular after constant follow up by HJS !

Hindus should offer gratitude to God for this success !

Success Of HJS

Mumbai : Under provisions of Maharashtra Rajabhasha Act, 1964, it has been made mandatory to have all proceedings in Marathi, barring few matters. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) observed that despite such Act being in force, companies manufacturing electronic goods in the State, including computer applications, IT instruments, cell phones etc. have not been using Marathi for their brochures, leaflets given with the products and even their packaging on which details, instructions for operations etc. are printed.  HJS had, therefore, written to the Chief Minister Shri. Devendra Fadnavis and Education Minister, Shri. Vinod Tawade, demanding to charge fine to such companies besides punishment for not making use of Marathi. The issue was also raised through MLAs during the last Legislative Assembly session. Maharashtra Government’s Company Department finally took cognizance of the issue and based on the representation of HJS, issued circular giving instructions to take immediate action against the companies which are not using Marathi for their leaflets/ brochures, packaging etc. for their products. All departments and offices of the Government have been instructed to implement this order.

The above information was given by Shri. Ramesh Shinde, the spokesperson of HJS in its press release.

Other points raised by HJS through its representation

  1. On products from different fields as medical, judiciary, education, electronics etc., Marathi language is being purposely left out and majority of Marathi population in Maharashtra is cheated.
  2. Information about several medicines  so also cell phones, cold drinks and other electronic devices is given in English, Hindi or even Urdu but not in Marathi. The brochure given with these products is in languages other than Marathi which is injustice to Marathi and in a way throttling of Marathi population.
  3. People from rural areas do not know what is written about the products since it is not in Marathi and there is possibility of cheating.
  4. Instructions have been given in the circular, KPSu – 2014/ Pr. No. 94/ Bhasha-2 issued by the State Government that everything sold and manufactured in the State; including cell phones, computer applications and information technology, should have facility to use, read and type Marathi. It was brought to the notice of  the Chief Minister by HJS that the instructions were not followed.
