Baramati (Dist. Pune) : On 2nd November, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) submitted representation to Tehsildar, Executive Magistrate and RTI Officer Shri. Patil, Nayab Tehsildar Shri. Anil Thombare and Police Inspector Shri. Sarjerao Patil, demanding prevention of denigration of Deities and national leaders taking place through crackers with their pictures.
Nayab Tehsildar said, “All sellers will be instructed under ‘Shop Act’ that they should not sell crackers with pictures of Deities and such instructions have been given while granting licences.”
Cracker-sellers from Baramati were also given representation. 14 sellers including ‘Jaihind Fataka Stall’ of Shri. Narendra Gujarathi, President of ‘Baramati Fataka Association’ were given such representations. They were asked not to sell crackers with pictures of Shri. Lakshmi. Barring one seller, all other sellers had kept crackers with pictures of Goddess Lakshmi on sale. The sellers informed, “Cracker manufacturing companies are sending such crackers with pictures of Lakshmi Devi; but next year, we will not keep such crackers on sale.” Shri. Dinesh Nayak and Shri. Prakash Jadhav of HJS were present on the occasion.
Highlights
- Shri. Sanjay Suresh Bhagat, a devout Hindu from Indapur had come to buy crackers while HJS activists were explaining about denigration of Deities through crackers. He listened to the explanation and then, he too explained the subject to another vendor. He also showed interest in taking part in HJS activities.
- Handbills giving information on Diwali with regard to spiritual science and crackers were distributed on the occasion.
