Tuljapur Town Council’s plan to auction stray cows on the day of ‘Vasubaras’ was foiled by a ‘gou-rakshak’ organization !
Tuljapur : On 7th November i.e. on the day of ‘Vasubaras’, Tuljapur Town Council (TTC) had planned to auction stray cows. An organization named ‘Janata Raja Gou-rakshan Bahu-uddeshiya Sanstha (JRGBS)’, however, raised strong objection to the plan and submitted a representation to Chief Officer of TTC demanding cancellation of such auction. As a result, the auction had to be cancelled. (Congratulations to JRGBS for preventing auction of cows ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
Stray cows go round in the town in search of fodder. Such stray cows were brought together in a garden in HUDCO colony by TTC administration and an auction was planned on 7th November. Shri. Ajay Salunke, the President of JRGBS strongly objected to such auction. In the representation submitted by him to the Chief Officer, it was mentioned that devotees have offered cows to Shri. Bhavani Mata because of their faith. If such cows were handed over to farmers or an organization taking care of cows, they would be looked after properly and it would help in protection of cows.
