Magh Krushna Trayodashi
Pune (Maharashtra): To discourage people from spitting on the stairs and wall of the Municipal Corporation’s field office on Tilak Road in Pune, tiles with Deities’ pictures were fixed on them. When Sanatan’s seeker, Shri. Vitthal Mumbrekar made the staff of the Municipal office aware about the mockery of the Deities; they requested him to prepare a representation regarding it to be given to the senior officer and also helped him in doing it. The representation was accepted immediately and endorsed with stamp and signature too.
Shri. Ganesh Dorge assisted in this matter. Shri. Mumbrekar had mentioned in the said representation that he was bringing the issue to the notice of the field office as people’s representative till some action is taken to correct it; otherwise he might have to start a campaign of collecting signatures from people in this regard. He had also hoped that he need not have to take such action.
When he had gone to the field office the next week, he observed that the tiles were removed from the stairs and wall. After making enquiries about the same he got the information that the Officer-in-charge had himself got the tiles removed in his presence in 4 days. Shri. Mumbrekar gave ‘A letter of thanks’ to the officer, Shri. Shelar. A year later Shri. Mumbrekar happened to visit the said office when the Security Officer on duty recognized him and thanked him. (Congratulations to the Officer and staff of the Municipal Corporation for helping to protect Dharma by stopping the mockery of the Deities! – Editor)
