A 33-year-old Catholic nun was found dead in a well of a convent in Iddukki district of Kerala on Tuesday.

The nun has been identified as Stella Maria, a member of the Sacred Heart convent at Uluppuni, Zee News reported.

The Kerala Police have reached the convent and started an investigation into the incident.

Earlier, another Catholic nun was found dead at a convent in Pala, Kottayam, on 17 September. The deceased, Sister Amala of Congregation of the Mother of Carmel (CMC), was found dead in her room in the convent.

The 69-year-old died of a “deep head injury”. After investigation, the Kerala Police arrested one Satheesh Babu who reportedly confessed to killing Sister Amala.

The post-mortem report also confirmed that Sister Amala was murdered.
