Use of banned plastic bags; wastage of water despite water shortage; many injured
Mumbai: This year too, ‘Holi’ festival was celebrated with throwing plastic bags filled with water and colours, use of chemicals, wastage of water, eve-teasing, fighting after consumption of drinks, thus spoiling the sanctity of the festival. (Hindus are the real foes of Hindus as they spoil religious festivals with such malpractices – Editor). The injured were treated at private and municipal hospitals.
Children were using banned plastic bags to fill with water and for throwing them at the pedestrians since past few days before the ‘Holi’ festival. The plastic bags were easily available with shopkeepers despite ban. Even today, there were heaps of such empty plastic bags on roads across the city. Besides, chemical colours were used not only by children but also by grown-ups. Water was wasted despite people’s complaint about water shortage on ‘Rangapanchami’. Some people even felt that Municipal Corporation should not supply water till afternoon on the day of ‘Dhulwad’. Young boys were crowding liquor shops in the afternoon. In some places, it was observed that drunken young boys were playing ‘Dhulwad’. (This shows the grave need to impart training to young generation on their Dharma – Editor).
It was informed by the sources that about 15 drunken young boys were admitted to Sion Hospital for injuries. Even in KEM Hospital, there were persons admitted with injuries caused due to water bags thrown at them or due to their eyes getting affected with colours.etc. Similarly, some people were treated at Nair, Cooper and Bhagavati Hospitals.
