Shrikshetra Alandi (Dist. Pune) : On 8th December, the Varkaris, who have taught us the doctrine of ‘Nathalachya mathi hanu kathi’, (meaning, ‘Teach a lesson to the obstinate’) resolved to become active in the activities for the welfare of the Nation and Dharma. The occasion was the 12th Varkari Maha Adhiveshan oragnised by the Varkari sect and HJS on the 711th Sanjeevan sohala (ceremony) of Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj. In this Maha Adhiveshan, the issues of attacks on Dharma, culture and Nation were discussed. As per the statement of ‘Dharmache palan, karne pakhand khandan’ (meaning, ‘Preserve Dharma by rebuttal of heretics’), the Varkari leaders present on the occasion spoke about the anti-Dharma elements who criticise the Vedas-Puranas and our culture under the name of rationalism.

This Maha Adhiveshan was organised with the aim of demanding a Nationwide-ban on cow slaughter , putting a stop to the various attacks on Dharma and for uniting pro-Hindus and Varkaris.
