Remember the secular Telangana Government using the Government’s money to celebrate Christmas, increases the fare of the bus reaching Hindus on their pilgrimage !
Issue of celebrating Christmas at Government level by Telangana Government
Bhagyanagar : A Memorandum requesting not to misuse the national wealth for appeasing minorities, was handed over to the Governor of Telangana by Mr. Chandru Moger, co-ordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), Telangana. This representation was forwarded through the Deputy Collector Nirmala Kumari to the Governor.
-
Telangana Government has decided to celebrate the Christian festival, Christmas, at Government level.
-
As per this decision, it has been planned to hold programmes related to Christmas in 195 churches at Government level, to distribute garments to 2 lac poor Christians and to serve food in all the churches in the State on behalf of the government.
-
Saying on one side that the Government is secular and to celebrate Christian festival, Christmas at Government level on the other side; on which principle of the Constitution is this based ?
-
Is this not double standard when on one hand the Government increases the bus fare of Hindus’ Godavari Pushkar pilgrimage, levies tax on tickets and on the other hand Christians’ festivals are celebrated giving Government grants ?
-
The Same Government had announced to give 26 crores of rupees from the Government treasury to Muslims. Why a different justice to different religious communities ?
-
Therefore demands like cancelling the decision of the Government of Telangana, banning the use of public money for appeasing the minorities , are being made in this representation.
