HJS follows up in removal of tiles of Deities in building

Falgun Krushna Trayodashi

Pandharpur (Maharashtra): There are tiles with pictures of deities in the building where Life Insurance Corporation of India’s office is located. The tiles were fitted with an intention of preventing people from spitting in the building. Shri. Sandip Apsangekar of Dharma-shakti Sena and Shri. Shri. Dhananjay Mhamane of Sanatan Sanstha submitted a representation, under the auspices of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), to Shri. Bhagavat, the Chief Manager of LIC for prevention of denigration caused due to the tiles with pictures of deities fitted in the building. The representation was signed by various Hindu Organizations like HJS, BJP, BJYM, all India Fadakari Dindi Sanghatana etc.

Shri. Bhagavat informed, “The tiles were fitted in accordance with the order issued by our Zonal Office in Pune. I will forward the representation to Pune. Tiles will be removed on receiving orders to that effect.”  (Will Shri. Bhagavat show such insensitivity if the matter was related to Muslims’ object of worship? – Editor).  Shri. Mhamane and Apsingekar immediately called up Shri. Apte, the concerned officer in Pune who informed them that order to remove the tiles was already issued 3 months earlier. Shri. Apsangekar informed Shri. Apte that the tiles were still not removed. Shri. Apte brought attention of Shri. Bhagavat to the order and asked him to take immediate action.
