He said that the History Books prescribed by the NCERT for 7th and 10th standerds   has glorified the Moghul history and dedicated 70 pages out of 154 pages, to glorify the Moghuls. and this book on history does not have even a photograph of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj the founder of Hindavi Swaraj and mere 6 lines are written about this great national heroes . In the history book ‘Hamare Atit – 2’ of 7th standard, 15 pages have been devoted to ‘Sultan of Delhi’ in the third lesson where information about the Sultan of Delhi, the expansion of Sultanate, family trees of Allauddin Khilji, Muhammod Tughalak etc.

About 15 pages have been devoted to the 4th lesson ‘Mughal Empire’ where detailed information about the army of Mughals, the Mughal kings Babar, Akbar, Humayun, Jehangir, Aurangazeb etc. has been given. Further the expansion of Akbar’s administration in Hindustan has also been given.

In the 5th lesson, ‘Administrator and edifices’, 15 pages have been spent for information about Kutub Minar, Kuvval al-Islam masjid of Delhi, Mecca, tomb of Humayun, the throne of ‘Diwan-e-Aam’ of Delhi and Taj Mahal.

The 10th lesson ‘Political consolidation in 18th century’ (Atharavya Shatakatil Rajnaitik Gathan) most of the pages contain information about the borders of empire of Mughals in Hindustan, aggression of Nadir Shah, Nizam, Alivardi Khan etc. However only 6 pages were devoted to the kingdoms originated in Hindustan like Rajput, Shikh, Marathi and Jat.

The history of Chhatrapati Shivaji was deliberately given in brief. This is the insult to the kings who are national heroes. One wonders whether it is the text book of Hindustan or Pakistan. This book has been prescribed for a number of school in the state. Thousands of students of our own state are being deprived of the information about the valour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. There is a question mark before the nationalists of the country whether the Congress government which is playing politics by spending crores of rupees for erecting a memorial of Chhatgrpati Shivaji in the sea will ever pay attention to the injustice being perpetrated through text books of NCERT and modify the books.

Deliberate hate campaign against Hindus!

On page No.70 of the book ‘India and contemporary world-2’ of 10th Std., only a picture of Lokmanya Tilak is published and in the adjoining box it is written, ‘Take note of various signs of unity around Tilak. This is the picture surrounded by holy shrines of different religions (for example, a temple, a church, a mosque)’. Here the picture of a mosque is actually the picture of Taj Mahal. Surprisingly, not a single sentence is written about Lokmanya Tilak. One fails to understand why he has been omitted in spite of his significant contribution to India’s freedom struggle.

Page 71-82 : Two pictures of Bharat Mata have been published; but ironically a malicious question is asked ‘Do you think these pictures can appeal to all the castes and religions’. Such questions create doubts in the minds of the students about Bharat Mata. They may think that the pictures of Bharat Mata may create a rift in people of different religions. How foolish!

Page 44: A French commander general Henry Navarrey has been shown smoking. When the central health ministers has take a strong view against smoking and also requested the film actors not to smoke in films. In the circumstances, will not the picture of Henry create bad impression on the young minds?

This curriculum of central schools is being taught in various schools in Karnataka also. Thus a wrong history is deliberately being hammered on the impressionable minds of lakhs of young students. We demand that the matter that presents distorted history must be changed in the books of NCERT immediately. We hereby warn the government that if it fails to give the true history its due place, it will have to face the grave eruption of rage of all the nationalist citizens.

HJS Team led by Shri Mohan gowda Met  NCERT Regional Director shri.
