Jalgao : Incident of giving a strict warning to Mr. Shashikant Dole, Asst. Traffic Police by Mufti Harun Nadvi, District president of Samajwadi Party not to take any action on three Muslim youth for breaking traffic rules while going on two-wheelers near Raliance petrol pump, has come to light. Nadvi has warned saying that if action is taken against those 3 Muslims, then they will have to bear the consequences. This appears to be an open challenge to the law and order management. It is also quite surprising that the crime is registered 10 days after the warning was given. Hence it is essential to take strict action immediately against Nadvi who is supporting the culprits just because they are from Muslim community, without just stopping at registering the crime against him. Hindu Organisations are going to forward a representation to the Police Inspector regarding this very soon. We are not against any person; but if immediate action is not taken on Nadvi then a wrong message may reach the community that those who act erroneously are being protected, expressed Mr. Sunil Ghanvat of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in a press note.
The press note also states that Nadvi has given an open warning to Mr. Shashikant Dole, Asst. Traffic Police, saying that I am warning you that you should stop taking action when anyone tells my name. If action is taken on Muslim youth I will not leave anyone. Tell all that, Muslim youth are not to be arrested, no action should be taken on them and they should not be harassed. This is like sheltering those who break traffic rules and forbidding any action against them because they happen to be poor Muslim brethren. Does it not mean that Muslims are allowed to break traffic rules. On one hand to say that laws are same for all in the country and on the other hand giving warning of not taking any action on Muslims as they are poor. What is going on ? If such an incident were to happen concerning any devout Hindu youth and if any Hindu leader were to support him then would police administration have released him ?. Shall we say that in Bharat where secularism prevails, the law changes according to the religion ? Therefore we are demanding to take stringent action on Nadvi, giving open challenge to Police administration, states the press note.
