‘Durgdin’ celebrated with great enthusiasm on 24 Forts!

Pune (Maharashtra): ‘Durgdin’ was celebrated on Maharashtradin on 24 Forts in Pune, Satara, Raigad and Nagar Districts with great enthusiasm. 2000 youths participated in the said campaign. Pratapgad Utsav Samiti, Swarupwardhini Shivpratisthan and History loving Mandal had jointly organized the said campaign.  

Seeing the Strong-walled Forts in Maharashtra tumbling down day-by-day, grieving devotees of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the Shivbhaktas organized ‘Durgdin’ to create awareness about holy Forts built by Shivaji Maharaj in order to protect them . Spontaneous response from the youths boosted the morale of the organizers and they have taken a vow to continue the campaign of preserve the holiness of the Forts throughout the year.

Durg Deity and the Saffron Flag were worshipped ritually, the Forts were decorated with saffron colour banners and Rangilis and Maharashtradin was held with great reverence. Many tourists were visiting the Forts that day as it was a holiday; but the Shivbhaktas had to drive away some of the tourists from Sinhgad, Raigad, Purandar and Shivneri Forts for they were enjoying liquor on those holy places. (Anti-National tourists denigrating the Historical inheritances that are the symbols of valour of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj! Is the Government going to do anything to stop this kind of menace of the visitors? – Editor)

The youths also undertook the tasks like wiping vulgar writings from the walls of the Forts by using oil paint, picking up the waste, cleaning the surroundings in each of the Forts. Shivbhaktas were successful in celebrating the ‘Durgdin’ under the guidance of Shri. Dnyanesh Purandare and Shri. Sanjay Bhosle.
