Mumbai: Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC) is planning to demolish a 35 years old Shiva Temple which is next to Tardeo bus top as it has been claimed to be unauthorized. (Would MMC dare to demolish the structure as unauthorized if it was a mosque? – Editor)
A point to be mentioned here is that MMC has been supplying water and electricity to this temple since the year 1974 and even recovering property tax. (What does the MMC has to say on this? – Editor) Shri. Chandrashekhar Shirodkar, a Shiv Sena zonal-chief has warned to start agitation.
Few years back, BEST filed a case in the Court claiming the ownership of this place. Later, declaring that they have won the case and BEST instructed MMC to demolish the temple. MMC has issued a letter to the management of the temple advising them that the temple is unauthorized.
